About All-Stars
All-Star teams are a select group of the league’s top players who will represent RPYB at the Nor-Cal Cal Ripken State tournament and potentially the Pacific Southwest Regional tournament. RPYB will field 4 All-Star teams; 9U, 10U, 11U, and 12U. Each team has a roster of 12-15 players and is filled with players based on their age as of May 1, 2024. Players are selected by the team manager, in conjunction with the RPYB player agent and are based on skill level, attitude, play throughout the season, work ethic, ability to represent RPYB in the best manner possible both on and off the field, position needs and commitment to the All-Star schedule.
Evaluations
Each age division will hold open evaluations for players who are interested in joining an All-Star team. Any individual that wishes to be considered for an All-Star team must participate in their age division’s evaluation. Once evaluations are complete, the team manager, in conjunction with the RPYB player agent will select players.
***Please note: Not all players who participate in the evaluation will be selected to an All-Star team***
Practices
Practices will begin as early as May 1. Each manager will set up the practice days and times. Typically, teams practice 3-5 days per week for 2 hours until the state tournament. If the team advances past the State tournament, then practices continue until the Regional tournament.

Cost
There is an additional cost per player to participate in All -Stars. The cost typically ranges from $100-$500 per player, and the cost can be reduced based upon the amount of financial support available from the league. Additionally, each player’s family is responsible for all travel and lodging for tournaments and games. Each team may opt to do fundraising activities to help defer travel costs to out of area games and tournaments.
Parent/Guardian Requirements
Parents/Guardians are required to work/volunteer up to 10 hours at any River Park hosted All-Star State or Regional Tournament, regardless of the tournaments age level. Any parent/guardian may choose to waive their volunteer requirement by paying $250.00 per player. (This money will go towards the hiring of any high school/college students to replace the volunteer hours).
Participation
All-Star roster spots are highly coveted & extremely competitive. Unfortunately, not all players who attend the evaluation will be selected to the team. Additionally, if a player cannot fully commit to the full All-Star schedule, including practices and games, they should not take part in the All-Star evaluation process.
