Dear River Park Baseball Families
We hope this message finds you well and enjoying a fantastic fall! We’re excited to announce that registration for the 2025 Spring season is now open and we couldn’t be more thrilled about what lies ahead.
We're fortunate to hold an exclusive use lease with the city, granting us private, year-round access to Ciavarella Field. However, this means we're responsible for maintaining all grounds and facilities without city support. We cover all associated costs, including utilities, field maintenance, and the increasing expenses for baseball-related items and snack shack supplies. Below is a snapshot of these expenses over the past two years:
YEAR | Field Maintenance | Utilities | Uniforms | Umpires | Supplies |
2022 | $25,900 | $6,069 | $35,185 | $5,760 | $1,100 |
2023 | $42,324 | $7,208 | $39,948 | $6,110 | $4,881 |
2024 (YTD) | $28,063 | $11,117 | $14,400 | $8,610 | $8,313 |
After thoughtful consideration at our recent board meeting, we made the difficult but necessary decision to adjust our registration fees for the 2025 season. This step is vital for ensuring our league's financial health in the coming years. We are also revising our volunteer commitment requirements to 6 hours per family or a $200 buyout. Additionally, we will collect the volunteer buyout at the beginning of the year from all families, which will be refunded once all hours are completed. Here’s a quick comparison of our fee structure:
2024 Registration Fees | 2025 Registration Fees |
T-Ball: $190 ($230 late) | T-Ball: $200 ($250 late) |
Rookies/Minors/Majors: $225 ($250 late) | Rookies/Minors/Majors: $275 ($325 late) |
Volunteer Commitment: 6 hrs or $250 per player | Volunteer Commitment: 6 hrs or $200 per family |
Even with the increased registration fees, we believe RPYB continues to offer great value. From the start of practices on February 1st through the T-Ball Championships on June 1st, each TBall player receives 2-4 hours of baseball activities (practices and games) each week, while every Rookie, Minor, and Major player receives 6-10 hours of baseball activities.
We understand that these changes may present a financial challenge for some families. We are committed to working with you individually to explore payment plans and options to ease the burden. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Treasurer, Todd Mirell, at tmirell10@gmail.com to discuss your needs.
We will also be offering a $25 sibling discount for families that are registering multiple children. This amount will be refunded via check after you have completed registration. Please reach out to Justin Bosley at jwbosley@gmail.com to discuss this option.
Keep an eye out for more information regarding registration, volunteer opportunities, and board member openings.
We look forward to seeing you and your families at Ciavarella Field for Opening Day on March 1, 2025.
