Welcome Back River Park Youth Baseball!
We're excited to kick off our spring season, and can't wait to see all of you back at Ciavarella. We have some important updates regarding player evaluations for next weekend (Jan 10th/11th). Please read this email in full, as there are some changes for the 2026 season!

Attendance is required for all players in the Rookies, Minors & Majors Divisions. There will be a make-up evaluation day on Sunday, January 11th from 9-10am at Ciavarella Field for all ages. If a player is unable to attend either date, they will become a blind hat pick in the player draft. There are no exceptions.
As a reminder, if you have a tee ball or coach-pitch player you DO NOT need to attend evaluations.
Play-Up Requests: Families who previously submitted a request for their player to “play up” to a higher division will receive a separate communication confirming whether the request has been approved, along with instructions for which tryout session their player should attend. If you have not already communicated a play-up request to the RPYB Registrar, we are unable to consider new or additional requests at this time.
Reminders for Evaluations
Players should bring a glove, bat, and helmet for evaluations, if available. If you are still collecting your gear for the season, we will have loaners available. Cleats are optional.
At check-in, your player will:
Be assigned a bib number
Be fitted for a jersey
Confirm their preferred jersey number
Once checked in, evaluations will include throwing, catching, and hitting.
Parents: Please remember to bring your $200 per family volunteer deposit check and write your player’s name(s) in the memo line. This check will be destroyed once your family completes the required volunteer hours for the season. Alternatively, your family or business may consider a sponsorship of our league which may reduce or eliminate your family’s volunteer commitment. Please note contributions to our league are tax deductible due to our 501 (c) (3) nonprofit status. Reach out to Deanna Johnston for additional questions at sponsors@riverparkbaseball.com.
Volunteer at Evaluation Day:
Every River Park Youth Baseball family is required to complete six (6) volunteer hours to support the league each season. Evaluation Day is a great opportunity to get a head start on fulfilling those hours while helping ensure the day runs smoothly for our players.
We are seeking volunteers to assist with check-in, the gear swap table, uniform sizing, and other on-site support roles.

Gear Swap Table:
Have gently used baseball gear taking up space in your garage? Bring it to Evaluation Day and drop it off at our Gear Swap table so it can find a new home for the 2026 season!
We’ll have a variety of previously loved bats, gloves, cleats, pants, and more available. Families are welcome to “shop” the swap while players get ready for the season.
If you would like to donate gear before next weekend the league has a donation box located at 5136 Teichert Ave in River Park. Feel free to drop off gear from Jan 3rd onwards.
Please reach out to the RPYB Board with any questions about evaluation day. We can't wait to see you at Ciavarella on January 10th!
